Aegaea provides clients with a service from initial feasibility to preparing detailed designs to enable technical approval and sectional agreements (Section 38 & 278 for example). We use software to produce 3D designs that meet the requirements of the highway authority, compliance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and the guidance set out in Manual for Streets (MfS). Our team can assist in the tender and construction stages.
Access
Our schemes range from the design of access provision for large scale residential projects, complex junctions into new commercial and industrial premises, highway capacity improvements, and pedestrian/cycle/non-motorised user facilities. At pre-acquisition and feasibility stage we consider the site risks and constraints, and advise on the potential form of access, route selection and highway improvements that may be required to facilitate the project.
Aegaea provides the technical information required to support a planning application and discharge of conditions. We undertake the detailed design and liaison with the highway authority, and provide the layout drawings, construction details and specification required for the necessary technical approval and legal agreement applications, i.e. Section 278.
Estate Roads
Our work spans the initial feasibility assessment, development of the masterplan layout and preliminary design for planning applications, through to undertaking full detailed design, technical approvals, and construction.
Consideration is given at an early stage to vehicle swept paths, visibility requirements, traffic calming, footway/cycleways etc. and we take a proactive approach to communication with the design team, to ensure that the design of estate roads are fully coordinated with the masterplan.
We use software to produce 3D designs that meet the requirements of the highway authority, compliance with design standards/specification and the guidance set out in Manual for Streets, and our team have extensive experience in the technical approval and legal agreement process, i.e. Section 38.
We coordinate Road Safety Audits (RSA) undertaken by an Independent Auditor, prepare an audit brief and designer’s response.
