I am a Director of Civil Engineering at Aegaea, a Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT) and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). With over 26 years in the construction industry, I have dedicated my career to the design and project management of civil engineering works across a wide range of sectors. I specialise in bridging the gap between a site’s initial feasibility and its final completion – ensuring highways, drainage and infrastructure are not only compliant but optimised for the specific needs of the development.

Expertise in Action

  1. Approved a new S278 roundabout and S38 spine road for a 1,200-home expansion (South Sebastopol, Cwmbran): including bridge works over a canal and protection of strategic utilities.
  2. Delivered drainage and public realm for a 3.6ha city-centre retail scheme (Friars Walk, Newport): significant S185 diversions and new main sewers in a live, highly constrained environment.
  3. Took a 1,350-unit development from feasibility to detailed design (Cullompton): primary highway and SuDS network, including discharge of planning conditions.
  4. Designed drainage for a 2,000MW power station (Pembroke): onsite drainage, foul proposals and major surface water pumping stations, threading pipelines around live cooling and process infrastructure.
  5. Delivered airside infrastructure at Heathrow: surface water drainage and highway design for an 800m road link between Terminals 2A, 2B and 2C, including taxiway underpasses and pumping stations.

Questions I’m often asked

Can you tell me if a site is worth buying before we commit? Yes, a feasibility appraisal flags the highway, drainage and levels constraints early, so you understand abnormal costs and design risk before purchase, not after.

Our scheme has hit a technical objection – can it be rescued? Usually. Much of my work is reassessing designs that have stalled, finding the engineering solution that satisfies the authority while protecting viability.

A bit about me

When I’m not managing multi-disciplinary projects or troubleshooting technical issues, I try to travel to as many new destinations as possible. Closer to home, you’ll usually find me hiking or swimming to stay active.
