Current Vacancies
Flood Risk & Drainage Consultant
Location: Remote
Salary: £25,000 to £33,000 (dependent on experience) + bonuses
Position: Permanent
About Aegaea
We are a small but rapidly growing flood risk, water and environment business with an industry recognised leadership team. We are looking to recruit a team member within the flood risk and modelling team after continued success in our existing work and multiple recent project wins.
We are a fully remote team with colleagues situated across the country, including London, Birmingham and Edinburgh – but don’t worry, we still provide opportunities to socialise with colleagues throughout the year!
We do things differently to the larger consultancies. We’re trying to break away from the traditional 9 to 5 and embrace a new way of working. We offer complete flexibility, providing you with the opportunity to set your own hours. We are also trialling unlimited annual leave (previous allowance 25 days) and look to our employees to shape the way we work.
About the Role
We offer opportunities to get involved with a variety of projects, including both public and private sector work. Our current projects include flood defences, strategic infrastructure, and private developments.
You will become a key member of the existing consulting team, providing support in the delivery of these projects including the production of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies. We offer in-house training to allow you to grow into a well-rounded Flood Risk Consultant and explore any specialisms you may be interested in.
As your career progresses, you will be given opportunities to oversee and manage projects and clients.
About You
The successful candidate will have an enthusiasm to develop their career in the water/environment sector. We are looking for someone that is hard-working, well-organised, motivated, enthusiastic, flexible. You will be able to work independently and as part of a distributed team and can communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with colleagues and clients alike.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in either Geography, Environmental Management, or Engineering.
- A minimum of two years industry experience.
- The ability to write clear, concise, and technically accurate reports.
- Knowledge of the drainage hierarchy and experience in undertaking drainage assessments and design using Causeway, MicroDrainage or other relevant software.
- Ability to undertake drainage strategies both outline and detailed.
- GIS experience using software such as ArcMap, QGIS, or MapInfo.
Desirable:
- Willingness to develop skills in hydrology, or modelling and become a well rounded flood risk consultant!
If you are interested in applying for this position, please submit your details including CV and an introduction to yourself to careers@aegaea.com.
